Day 1: Hanoi - Lao Cai by Overnight Train
Your adventure begins as you transfer to Hanoi station to catch the overnight train to Lao Cai. The train departs from Hanoi at 22:00, offering a comfortable and convenient mode of transportation for your journey. Relax and settle in for the overnight ride to Lao Cai. Overnight on the train.
Day 2: Lao Cai - Sapa - Cat Cat-Trek Camping Site (B/L)
Upon arrival at Lao Cai, you will be greeted by your local guide and transferred to Sapa. After a refreshing show, enjoy a delicious breakfast and morning coffee. Travel by car downhill towards Cat Cat village, inhabited by the Black Hmong minority. This village is nestled at the foot of the Hoang Lien mountain range and serves as the starting point for your trek. Begin your ascent up the mountain, immersing yourself in the stunning natural surroundings. After a couple of hours of hiking, take a break for lunch by a river. Continue your climb towards the campsite at 2200m, where you will spend the night in tents. Take a short walk around the campsite to stretch your legs while your guide prepares a hearty dinner. Approximate walking time: 6 hours with a 1-hour lunch break.
Day 3: Trek Camping Site -Fansipan Peak (3,143m)
Today is the day you conquer the summit of Mount Fansipan, the highest peak in Indochina. Embark on an exhilarating ascent that will take a few hours to reach the top. Once you’ve reached the summit, revel in the breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes and celebrate your achievement. Afterward, descend to a scenic spot for a well-deserved lunch. Following lunch, continue your descent until you reach the trek campsite at about 3000m, where you will spend your final night in the mountains, surrounded by nature. Approximate walking time: 6.5 hours with a 1-hour lunch break.
Day 4: Trek-Camping Site- Tram Ton - Sapa - Hanoi (B/L)
Today’s trek is relatively gentle compared to previous days. Begin by disassembling the tents and commencing the descent from the mountains. Follow the trail and stone steps constructed by Hoang Lien National Park, enjoying the natural beauty along the way. Take a break for lunch before bidding farewell to the mountains. In the early afternoon, arrive at Tram Ton and board the car for your journey back to Sapa, completing the loop. Once in Sapa, you have free time to explore the charms of the town. In the evening, take the overnight train from Sapa to Hanoi, departing at 21:15. Overnight on the train. Approximate walking time: 4.5 hours with a 1-hour lunch break.
Arrival in Hanoi the Next Morning Day
You will arrive at Hanoi Railway Station early in the morning at around 5 am. This marks the end of your trekking adventure.
