Furthermore, around 2.4 million Vietnamese citizens traveled abroad during the same period, which is four times higher than the previous year and about 71.5% of the number recorded in the first six months of 2019.

The Vietnamese government has set a target to serve 110 million tourists in 2023, including 8 million foreigners. They aim to earn around VNĐ650 trillion (US$27.6 billion) from tourism services. The Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, Nguyễn Văn Hùng, emphasized the need to promote Vietnamese tourism abroad through various channels such as cinema, art, and exhibitions.

The report also highlighted the positive trend of increasing search volumes for Vietnam’s tourism on Google, indicating a strong demand recovery and the potential to attract international visitors in the future.
