Meliá Hotels International will open Meliá Halong Bay in 2027
Meliá Hotels International, a renowned Spanish hotel group, has solidified its position as one of the largest international hotel groups in Vietnam by signing an agreement for a new hotel in Ha Long, the gateway to the breathtaking tourist destination of Ha Long Bay. This move is part of Meliá’s rapid expansion journey within Vietnam, which spans over 18 months. Scheduled to open in 2027, Meliá Halong Bay will boast 240 rooms and 302 serviced apartments, spread across two towers.
Ignacio Martin, the Managing Director for Asia Pacific at Meliá Hotels International, expressed enthusiasm about the project, stating, “Ha Long Bay and its archipelago of limestone karsts are one of the natural wonders of the world and a thrilling vantage point for our hotel group.” He further emphasized that the addition of Meliá Halong Bay to their portfolio allows guests to explore popular destinations from North to South Vietnam while experiencing the renowned Spanish warmth and hospitality that the brand is known for.
The spacious hotel will feature four restaurants and bars, an indoor swimming pool, and an expansive outdoor swimming area adorned with palm trees and man-made islets, reminiscent of the neighboring UNESCO World Heritage Site. The hotel will also incorporate the brand’s signature YHI Spa, offering guests a rejuvenating retreat, and will provide 2,000 square meters of MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) Space. Meliá Halong Bay will serve as an ideal base for exploring the spectacular Ha Long Bay, where visitors can navigate picturesque waters adorned with over 1,000 limestone islands.

As part of Meliá Hotels International’s expansion in Vietnam, Meliá Halong Bay will join the group’s portfolio of 23 hotels throughout the country. The hotel group aims to offer Spanish warmth and hospitality to guests, ensuring a memorable stay and a chance to explore popular destinations across Vietnam.

With this announcement, Meliá Hotels International now has a total of 23 hotels throughout Vietnam, including those under development. This establishes the group as one of the largest international hotel groups in the country. This summer, the group will unveil Gran Meliá Nha Trang, their most luxurious hotel in Vietnam to date. Following that, Sol by Meliá Cam Ranh Bay, Meliá Nha Trang Beach Resort, and Meliá Quy Nhon Beach Resort are scheduled to open in the coming years, bringing an authentic Spanish passion for service to Vietnam.
