Mai Chau is a mountainous area of outstanding natural beauty, inhabited by a Thai and H’mong ethnic minority groups. This trip offers an easy trek combined with home stay in villages of Thai people. You will trek for two days through the scenic and peaceful villages and stay overnight in local homes where we have the chance to get to learn about culture of the Thai people. From the mountainous region of Mai Chau, we travel back to the nation’s capital, Hanoi.

Day 1

08.30 am leave Hanoi for Mai Chau. After 4-hr beautiful bus ride we reach Pom Coong, a village of the Thai ethnic minority in Mai Chau valley. Lunch in Pom Coong Village. In the afternoon we take light walk on village road to Xo, a village of the Thai ethnic minority. Dinner and overnight in a local house.

Pom Coong Village is situated in Mai Chau town, Mai Chau district, prompting the tourists’ curiosity right from its name. Here, Thai people have known how to promote the tourism industry right from their daily life. From the stilt-houses, the daily activities to the beauty of cultural life has established and developed the tourism. A journey to Pom Coong Village actually offers a great opportunity to explore the outstanding nature beauty and culture richness of Mai Chau, the gateway to the impressive Northwestern area of Vietnam. Mai Chau travel to the village provides both physical activity and the unique chance to observe a way of life that has changed little over the centuries. Together with Lac Village, Pom Coong Village gradually becomes the appealing tourist attraction in Mai Chau in particular and Hoa Binh tourism in general.

Day 2

After breakfast at the home stay we say goodbye to the host and walk to Buoc Village. On the way we would see villagers working on rice paddies and children going to school. Lunch on the way. In the afternoon, we will reach the beautiful village of Van. We will spend the second night with a local family.

Day 3

After breakfast at the home stay, we walk on village roads which run between mountains and rice paddies. We reach our lunch stop, Van Mai Village, around 11:30am. Lunch in a local house before taking a bus ride back to Hanoi.  We would arrive in Hanoi around 5.30pm. Trip completes in Hanoi.
